The project involves books about texture from elements of nature that humans use.
The project is part of my Material Elements series using elements from nature and emphasizing texture and forms.

Crosswords : Conversations in the spaces between handwritten words
Drawings in watercolor, ink and acrylic, ©2019
I love handwriting, the curves of the letters and the spaces between. In these drawings I am writing while I listen to or read words and transcribe them in lines that cross or touch to create a woven effect. Then I play with the spaces between, outlining words, filling in spaces and finding patterns. In the end I don’t intend the words to be read at all but appreciated for the shapes they make.
